Community Building Mitrovica (CBM) is hiring a Project Manager for a managing the project component Center for Resources Youth and Media (CRYM). CRYM is one of the components of the large-scale project “Bridging the Divide”: a project that has been ongoing since September 2010.

CBM’s mission is to contribute towards making Mitrovica a safe place to live and work in, where accountable and reliable institutions cooperate with reputed civil actors to build a democratic society, where diversity is a value and where there are opportunities for citizens to make their own choices in an unrestricted manner.

The Center for Resource Youth and Media (CRYM) includes:
-    A building housing seven CSOs and initiatives, providing support to community-orientated initiatives in North Mitrovica with a focus on youth and media;
-    a youth center, the “CRYM Club” in the aforesaid building run by and for young people in (North) Mitrovica; and
-    Activities organized by the seven CRYM member organizations and initiatives, with synergy between those activities being one of the primary project aims.

The CRYM Manager’s duties will include:
-    ensuring the timely implementation of the activities and results described in the CRYM project document;
-    financial management and administration: ensuring consistent expenditure with the project budget, overseeing income generation through activities, drafting financial reports (with the assistance of the project administrator);
-    fundraising for the sustainability of the CRYM: writing project proposals, drafting budgets, contacting potential donors and maintaining donors relations and developing project plans that will enhance further functioning of CRYM in cooperation with CRYM member organizations;
-    detailed narrative and financial reporting to BtD Coordinator and CBM’s Director and, following approval by the Director, ultimately to SPARK as the contractual party to the project donor (Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs);
-    drafting any required adjustments and/or revisions to the project plan and budget and submitting same to CBM;
-    identifying risks that may affect the project’s implementation, communicating such risks to BtD coordinator and CBM’s Director and to any other parties involved;
-    communicating project developments to all local stakeholders, especially all organizations involved in the CRYM – BtD project; and
-    preparing and implementing a PR strategy, with a strong focus on new media.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
-    Considerable experience in project cycle management with a demonstrably strong background project and financial management;
-    Fluency in English and at least one local language;
-     Excellent English-language writing skills (ability to write detailed project proposals, progress reports and final reports);
-    Strong communications skills, comfortable with new media; and
-    A highly neutral, independent attitude towards the social, economic and especially political context of the Mitrovica region, with a sound knowledge of its developments and constraints.

Here you will find general information about us, our organization, our work, our projects and partners, and many other things. CBM this year has entered the second decade. We are able to look back at the past decade with satisfaction. Every year is being more dynamic, with a lot of landmark achievements as well as a variety of challenges.
