General Background:

Community Building Mitrovica (CBM) is a local Non Governmental Organization (NGO), active since March 2001 in Mitrovica region covering all seven municipalities: Mitrovicë/a South, Mitrovicë/a North, Vushtrri/Vučitrn, Skenderaj/Srbica, Leposavić/ Leposaviq, ZubinPotok/ZubinPotok and Zvečan/Zveqan. CBM is an interethnic grassroots organization that identifies, encourages and facilitates joint actions of citizens in the Mitrovica region in order to promote cooperation, co-existence and democratic values.

The Intern will be responsible for supporting the Project Coordinator and other staff members in the implementation of activities of a three-year Consortium Program, jointly delivered by NGOs CBM, Mundësia and Open Data Kosovo. The ideal candidate for this position has to demonstrate ability in; spoken and written English and Serbian, analytical skills, strong communication skill.  The candidate has to be highly organized, adaptable, and able to prioritize tasks while working independently. We are looking for people who are creative, adaptive, and attentive to new social media features and trends.

 

Job description:

  • Conduct field visits especially in Mitrovica North to oversee the successful delivery of the project activities.
  • Taking pictures and providing content from activities to post on social media   
  • Assisting the Social Media Assistant on social media accounts (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube), ensuring uniform content, graphics, and other elements within the communities.
  • Writing posts and improving content for social media, also translating posts to English and Seriban.
  • Assisting with writing articles for social media networks
  • Posting updates to the organizations webpage account (initially under supervision from the Social Media Assistant)
  • Work with staff members to implement other channel-specific campaigns (e.g. uploading photos videos to YouTube, etc)
  • Perform other related duties, as required

 

Requirements:

  • University/College Student
  • Age: 18+
  • Professional communication skills in English and Serbian, both verbal and in written
  • Experience in social media campaigns
  • Demonstrated high level of professionalism
  • Able to work independently and responsibly under pressure, and as a member of broad and diverse teams
  • Ability to proactively address potential issues
  • Fluency in English and  Serbian; knowing Albanian is an asset
