Prevention of Violent Extremism Workshop

On 20th and 21st of December, NGO Mundesia conducted the workshop, with representatives from Council for Community Safety of the Municipality of Mitrovica to discuss experience and share learning.

In this workshop, participated the Director for Protection and Rescue, Representatives from Kosovo Police, FSK, religious leader and representatives from Mitrovica Municipality.

The following topics which were discussed covered the field of Prevention of Violent Extremism, challenges and responsibilities of central and local institutions on combating this issue.

The purpose of this Workshop is to increase the potential and create consistency against violent extremist agendas and enhancing the personal and professional development of young people.

Participants shared their opinions and concerns related to this issue and discussed the next steps that should be taken into consideration for combating these negative phenomena which our society is facing and being exposed to, and also the actions which should follow this important campaign regarding prevention of Violent Extremism.

Skender Përteshi, researcher and coordinator of the Program for Prevention of Violent extremism at Kosovo Center for Security Studies, presented the work of KCSS in combating violent extremism by assessing as very important the co-operation between central and local levels of institutions for prevention of Violent Extremism.
