CBM AND UNIVERSITY OF PRISHTINA ORGANIZED EXCHANGE SEMINAR ON TRANSITIONAL JUSTICE

As part of the course "Transitional Justice: The role of the University in addressing issues of the past" fifteen students from University of Prishtina were part of an exchange visit in Belgrade, Serbia.

The first two days of the seminar started with introductions about WWII and presentations upon the fall of Yugoslavia, whilst the training seminar continued with sessions regarding the importance of youth activism in the field of dealing with the past. Within the visit, the group also had the chance to meet the historian Marijana Toma and discuss about the transitional justice mechanisms and their implementation in the post-Yugoslav countries.

The overall purpose of this course is to build the competencies of University of Prishtina through a program that will enable education of students in transitional justice, as a way to contribute towards peace building based on the values of human rights, cultural understanding, and community as a key factor for peace building.

"Transitional Justice: The role of the University in addressing issues of the past" is funded by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Kosovo, and implemented by Community Building Mitrovica and University of Prishtina "Hasan Prishtina", Faculty of Law.
