CBM, PAX AND UN-HABITAT SEAL COOPERATION WITH MITROVICA SOUTH FOR INCLUSIVE DEVELOPMENT AND LOCAL GOVERNANCE

Community Building Mitrovica, PAX, UN-HABITAT and the Municipality of Mitrovica South, on October 10th 2016 signed a Memorandum of Understanding, committing to joint efforts towards fostering Inclusive Development and Good Governance in the Municipality of Mitrovica South. The memorandum was signed by Ms. Florentina Hajdari (Community Building Mitrovica - CBM), Ms. Gwendoline Mennetrier (UN-Habitat representative in Kosovo) and Mr. Agim Bahtiri (Mayor of the Municipality of Mitrovica South).

Mr. Agim Bahtiri expressed his gratitude for the Inclusive Development Programme partners, and highlighted the need to further support the municipality in inclusive spatial planning processes with special consideration to the new reality for Mitrovica, in light of the spatial planning legal reform.

The municipality was also informed on the progress related to the Block by Block Initiative on Mitrovica Market Places which foresees activities in support of market and public space revitalization, development and management for the urban area of Mitrovica.

The Inclusive Development Programme is a four-year programme aimed at fostering good governance and inclusive development in northern Kosovo, and is co-financed by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) and the Government of Kosovo.
