NEIGHBORHOOD PLANNING DELIBERATIONS/WORKING GROUP MEETING

In the framework of the Inclusive Development Programme, CBM organized the first working group meeting in order to define the neighborhood planning deliberations process, timeline and the role of the working group.The neighborhood planning deliberations component of the Inclusive Development Programme will ensure that the planning process is community-based. 

The working group's responsibility will be to develop methodologies to reach the different communities in order to include their feedback and needs in the planning process. During the first phase of the programme, neighborhood planning deliberations will be conducted in two neighborhoods of Mitrovica region – one in the Municipality of Mitrovica South and one in the Municipality of Zvecan.

The working group will meet over the next couple of months to ensure the citizens participation in the neighborhood planning, and will be composed by: CBM, municipal representatives, UN HABITIAT municipality advisers, Mitrovica Region Monitoring Team member organizations and citizens. Thus, this programme component will follow a two-way: bottom-up and top-down approach on the neighborhood planning, by coordinating the urban planning strategies of the municipalities and the needs of the communities.

The Inclusive Development Programme - a unique collaboration between UN-Habitat, PAX, CBM aims to support the strengthening of the local capacities for municipal planning, increasing local government transparency, responsiveness and accountability through civil society mobilization and engagement, as well as improving service delivery through inter-municipal and local-central coordination and cooperation. The programme is co-financed by the Swedish Development Cooperation and the Government of Kosovo.
