THE SUPPORT FOR WOMEN IN MITROVICA CONTINUES: CLOSING CONFERENCE OF THE PROJECT ‘’EMPOWERING WOMEN THROUGH ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN MITROVICA’’

Community Building Mitrovica and NGO Inspiracija organized the closing conference of the project ‘’Empowering Women through Entrepreneurship in Mitrovica’’. This project has been implemented for the timeframe of two (2) months. Within this period several activities have been conducted, whilst the main target of the project have been women entrepreneurs from South and North Mitrovica.

The event kicked of with the opening remarks delivered by Valdete Idrizi, the executive director of CiviKos Platform who greeted the audience and applauded the engagement of the Mitrovica women entrepreneurs.

Following, the main two achievements of the project were presented: the inception and registration of the ‘’Business Women Mitrovica’’ Association and the creation of the Business Online Platform (bwmitrovica.org) for women entrepreneurs.

‘’We have achieved solid results that will be very helpful for the women entrepreneurs; through training component within the project - the women have had the chance to gain more in-depth information regarding business registering, Kosovo tax/fiscal policies, etc’’ – said CBM’s representative, Vetone Veliu. Further, Ms.Veliu noted that the ‘’Business Women Mitrovica’’ Association is an initiative, the first of this kind in Mitrovica that will enable closer cooperation and networking within and between women entrepreneurs from South and North Mitrovica.

Qefsere Kadriu, one of the participants of the activities implemented within the project, expressed her gratitude for CBM, because as she said: ‘’CBM's support has been crucial in order to continue with my business; Just like in my case, this support has helped lots of women to obtain their economical independence, whilst amongst the others we have also created good relations and friendship with one another’’.
