AMERICAN DIPLOMAT MEETS YOUTH IN MITROVICA
The 3rd generation of Access Program was visited yesterday (10.11.2016) by Mr. Roger Webb, Public Desk Officer for the Western Balkans. Initially Mr. Webb met with the Access Program coordinator and English teachers. This meeting apart from being informative served to generate new ideas and suggestions.
Afterwards he participated in the Access class attended by the students from North and South Mitrovica, and his presence was very much welcomed. In the class Mr. Webb shared his life experience and encouraged students to never give up from the hard work. As he was part Peace Corps, Mr. Webb explained how this experience influenced his entire life. In the end of the lecture, Access students had a chance to ask questions to Mr.Webb on his life as a diplomat but not only.
These visits are very important for the students to give them good examples and to motivate them to strive further on their lives. And Access Program except being a free of charge course of learning English language aims to empower and positively influence the students’ personal development.
The ‘’English Access Microscholarship Program'' is funded by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, and is implemented by Community Building Mitrovica.
