General Background:
Community Building Mitrovica (CBM) is a local Non Governmental Organization (NGO), active since March 2001 in Mitrovica region covering all seven municipalities: Mitrovicë/Mitrovica South, Mitrovica/Mitrovicë North, Vushtrri/Vučitrn, Skenderaj/Srbica, Leposavić/Leposaviq, ZubinPotok/ZubinPotok and Zvečan/Zveqan. CBM is an interethnic grassroots organization that identifies, encourages and facilitates joint actions of citizens in the Mitrovica region in order to promote cooperation, co-existence and democratic values.
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for coordination and implementation of activities of a three-year Consortium Programme, jointly delivered by CBM, Mundesia and Open Data Kosovo. The ideal candidate has a demonstrated ability to coordinate activities on implementation of a large and medium-scale projects for local or international organizations, analytical skills, and an ability to communicate both verbally and in writing; s/he possesses civil society, community stakeholders, and local institutions contacts in the region and has a reputation for independence.
Job description:
- Coordinate overall implementation of the project;
- Manage project communication, the principal link between project, CBM and partners;
- Assist the Consortium Manager on fundraising & maintaining donor relations
- Manage marketing for the project and its activities, securing sponsorships and other support as necessary,
- Produce narrative reporting and administration to the Consortium Manager and to CBM Executive Director on the regular project activities;
- Identify risks to the project implementation, communicate such risks to the Consortium Manager and any other parties involved and draft and implement a risk management/containment strategy;
- Communicate project developments to all stakeholders, especially partner organizations and donors when needed and/or required;
- Organize and participate in project meetings as required;
- Represent the project in the press, local authorities and third parties when required by the Consortium Manager;
- Represent the project to other organizations as required;
- Assist on drafting and compiling narrative and financial reports to CBM, ultimately intended for the donor;
- Other technical duties as needed
Requirements:
- Minimum three years of proven work experience in large- and medium-sized projects in the community or international development sectors
- Up-to-date understanding of social and political dynamics in Kosovo, extensive contacts with civil society, community stakeholders, and local institutions in the region (but a reputation for independence and political neutrality)
- Analytical skills,
- Ability to work independently and responsibly under pressure, and as a member of broad and diverse teams
- Professional communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- Recognized University degree, preferably in a relevant field
- Fluency in English and Albanian; knowing Serbian is an aset
