YOUNG PEOPLE FROM MITROVICA NORTH AND SOUTH CELEBRATE THANKSGIVING DAY TOGETHER

On 24th of November, 2016 - Access Program students from Mitrovica joined the Thanksgiving Day celebrations, a day that stands as a reminder to recognize, appreciate, and be grateful for the good things in our lives.

Steeped in legend and myth, this holiday celebrates the harvest feast shared by the Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag Native Americans in 1621. After officially being named a national holiday more than 200 years later, Thanksgiving has evolved into a celebration with lots of new traditions and in a day that promotes and encourages the significance of being thankful and giving back.

Within this occasion, 40 Access Program students from both North and South Mitrovica, held the first joint class at the IBCM premises. The students enjoyed the presentations about the Thanksgiving holiday made by themselves, while this event was also attended by Alumni Access Program students, as well as their friends from IBCM.

The ‘’English Access Microscholarship Program’’ is funded by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, and implemented by Community Building Mitrovica.
