Economic Development and Reconciliation


Economic reconciliation aims to create meaningful partnerships and mutually beneficial opportunities based on a values-driven approach to attaining community economic prosperity.

As one of the firsthand driving forces, economic development is important for Kosovo's progress. Nonprofits can play a major role in providing opportunities to support entrepreneurs, local and small-scale business owners’

How are business and reconciliation processes connected?

Over the past year, the #RCT activity, through one of its components, is tackling the issue of establishing communication with business owners in the southern and northern Kosovo region to identify their needs and way to support them and their process in business prosperity.

The division is one of the major challenges identified for local businesses as there is a lack of connecting opportunities for their product placement.

We met them in an open space, where business owners from K Albanian and K Serbian and other communities discussed challenges and ways to support them. One way is initiating and enabling space for businesses to connect and develop ideas for further cooperation.

This event is part of the Reconciliation and Conflict Transformation activity implemented by CBM and partners YIHR ks and NSI, supported by the American people through USAID in Kosovo.
