Third Civic Education School is Finalized

NGO "Mundesia" which is CBM's partner, along with Open Data Kosovo, in the project "Building Strong and Resilient Communities in Mitrovica" have finalized the third "Civic Education School".

This school lasted four months, from March until June, and taught 20 students of Economical High School "Hasan Prishtina" in Mitrovica. Meanwhile, CBM has started with the fourth and fifth Civic Education Schools with students of Gymansium "Frang Bardhi" and Medical High School "Dr. Xheladin Deda" in Mitrovica. Due to the summer season, both of these schools will continue being implemented in September while NGO "Mundesia" will start the sixth Education School with Technical High School "Arkitekt Sinani".

 

Civic Education Schools are part of a larger project, "Building Strong and Resilient Communities in Mitrovica," and are designed to build soft and professional skills and encourage personal development and growth to the students through interactive discussions around topics of history, human rights, the state building process, civil society, and volunteerism. Ten schools of this kind are planned to take place until the end of the project, engaging different groups of 20 students each, providing opportunity for total of 200 students to participate. The program will also engage participants to implement small community projects in order to encourage volunteerism and foster a culture of civic activism.
